Following an exciting first win by the PDL Piranhas, an end score of 2-0, the Virginia Beach Piranhas W-League kept the momentum hosting the Northern Virginia Majestics in a doubleheader on Friday night at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex with a kickoff time of 8:00 p.m.

With high winds and under a tornado warning, the PDL Virginia Beach Piranhas hosted the Nashville Metros on Friday night at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex, earning their first win of the 2012 season.

The Virginia Beach Piranhas were triumphant in their home opener Saturday night at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.  With the game tied 1-1 at the half, the Piranhas came out with force in the second, securing their first win of the season.  Forward Esther Anyanwu led the way for the Piranhas, tallying two goals and one assist on the night.  The Piranhas next play on Friday night against Northern Virginia at 8:00.

The Fredericksburg Hotspur fought back from a two-goal first-half deficit to earn a 2-2 tie with the visiting Virginia Beach Piranhas at the University of Mary Washington on Saturday.

The Piranhas are pleased to announce that Rafael Mendivil is returning for his sencond season as the assistant coach of the men’s PDL Virginia Beach Piranhas.

The Virginia Beach, Fredericksburg and Northern Virginia W-League and Premier Development League teams will once again vie for the annual Commonwealth Cup title during the 2012 season.  In its inaugural season, the Virginia Beach Piranhas claimed a decisive state title by virtue of a 4-0-0 record in the W-League cup.

The Virginia Beach Piranhas are looking for volunteers for the 2012 season.  If you are interested in the behind the scenes world of a sports franchise, we would love to have you join the Piranhas.  Minimum age to volunteer is 15. High school/college students looking for volunteer or intern hours are welcome, but we are not just for kids. Adults are needed and can work in the office as well as game day. Would you like to travel with the team? Team managers and assistants are also needed.
